On April 4, students from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s Petroleum Engineering program had the incredible opportunity to tour the Moncla Well Service facility. This immersive experience offered a close-up look at real world well servicing and workover operations, providing an invaluable complement to their classroom learning.

During the tour, students explored an offshore platform workover rig and a well servicing training rig on a 4000-foot test well. On display were a wide range of equipment and operations, including a double cement pumping unit, a hydrostatic tubing testing truck, a slickline unit, and a bulk trailer. The visit also featured Moncla’s exclusive onsite training rig, the U of Krewe, which is the only facility of its kind in South Louisiana.

This visit was highlighted in the IADC DrillBits monthly newsletter and featured on Moncla Workover & Drilling’s LinkedIn page, where the company emphasized its commitment to supporting the next generation of energy professionals. Students engaged directly with Moncla’s experienced team and gained insight into the roles and responsibilities essential for maintaining well integrity and optimizing production.

Many thanks to Andrew Moncla and the entire Moncla team for making this outstanding learning experience possible.
