The Department of Petroleum Engineering is now an accredited WellSharp Well Control training provider, a part of being recognized as a provider of the finest drilling education in the nation.

Since the 2010 BP Deepwater Horizon event, strict regulatory assessment standards were put in place worldwide.The department satisfied the regulatory requirements for well control instruction, and has been awarded an IADC accredited provider. 

The only Petroleum Engineering department in the nation, if not the world, to achieve this status.
