On Thursday February 22nd, IADC/AADE student chapters held a joint meeting in the drilling engineering lab. The meeting was very informative as it featured a notable guest speaker, Mr. Neil Richard.

Neil Richard is Weatherford's North American manager for MPD operations and a UL graduate. His presentation explained the principle of Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD). He also covered how MPD could be used to drill in a narrow mud windows, how Leak-off tests could be performed every 80 feet without stopping, how to produce a real time mud window etc. Mr. Richard did also interact with the students for 2 hours after the presentation.

Thank you Mr. Richard for your time and for giving back to the Ragin' Cajuns.
