Curriculum
Our petroleum engineering program ensures all students have a strong foundation of math, physics, chemistry, geology, and the engineering sciences. From there, you will learn about the differences in drilling fluids, fluid behavior, geological formations, planning and building oil wells, risk analysis, and reservoir engineering.
We emphasize lifelong learning, teamwork, critical thinking, innovation, and global/society impact of our work. Our group projects, especially with the added interactions with industry mentors, will give you near-real-world experience in work place dynamics. Different courses also require written and oral communication skills, so you're prepared for future challenges.
Our curriculum is proven to be the best preparation for working in the oil and gas industry — because of it, our students have a 100 percent job placement rate after graduation. Industry professionals regularly contribute to the program as mentors and project advisors, so you can create those connections even before you enter the job market.
