On March 3rd, our Petroleum Engineering students had the opportunity to tour the Halliburton Lafayette Manufacturing Center (LMC), a state-of-the-art 200,000 ft² facility that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, year-round. The center employs hundreds of professionals dedicated to designing and manufacturing advanced completion tools used across the globe.

Products built at this site include gravel pack screens, liner hangers, swell packers, completion assemblies, running tools, plugs, and more, all of which play a vital role in modern well completion operations.

Visits like this are an essential part of our program’s mission to bridge the gap between the academic classroom and the energy industry. We thank Halliburton for opening their doors and giving our students valuable firsthand insight into large-scale operations and global manufacturing excellence.
