UL Lafayette Petroleum Engineering students completed their IADC WellSharp Well Control certification during the weekend of November 22-23, 2025.

As an accredited IADC WellSharp Well Control training provider, UL Lafayette delivers this certification as part of the undergraduate curriculum, adding value to students’ education while addressing a critical industry need. The IADC WellSharp program is a standardized credential recognized across the drilling industry.

This cohort exceeded expectations, earning an average score of 89.7 on the standardized WellSharp exam.

All UL Lafayette Petroleum Engineering undergraduate students are required to complete the IADC WellSharp certification, ensuring they graduate with well control knowledge aligned with industry standards.
