Reservoir Engineering Laboratory

Primarily a design laboratory. Design experience includes detailed studies of evaluation of original hydrocarbons in place, reservoir mapping, reservoir description and fluid characterization, fluid flow porous media, material balance analysis applied to determination of original oil/gas in place, reservoir behavior/performance, recovery factor, reserves estimation (primary recovery), and pressure transient behavior including draw down and buildup analysis.

The laboratory experimental component includes utilization of polar planimeters for evaluation of hydrocarbon bearing rock volume from structure, isopachous, isovol maps; average reservoir pressure from isobaric maps. Additional desired laboratory experiences would include PVT studies using a computer- integrated mercury free PVT system for fluid phase behavior analysis and gas-oil-water relative permeability apparatus for measurement of simulations rates of multi phase flow in core sample.
